Getting StartedConfigure Platform Credentials

Configure Platform Credentials

Palactix uses a Bring Your Own OAuth (BYO) model.

You must provide your own platform credentials (App ID / Client ID / Secret).

Why This Matters

With BYO OAuth:

  • You own your client connections
  • Your app branding appears on consent screens
  • No vendor lock-in
  • Full control over permissions

Step 1: Create OAuth App on Platform

Create an app on the platform you want to use:

Examples:

  • Meta (Facebook / Instagram)
  • LinkedIn
  • X (Twitter)
  • TikTok

Each platform provides:

  • client_id
  • client_secret

Step 2: Add Credentials in Palactix

Go to your app dashboard:

/developer/apps/{app_id}

Add credentials for a platform:

  • Select platform
  • Enter client_id
  • Enter client_secret

Step 3: Verify Credentials

To verify:

  1. Click Connect Account
  2. Complete OAuth flow
  3. If successful → platform marked as verified

What Happens Internally

When verified:

  • Credentials are stored securely
  • OAuth flow is enabled for that platform
  • Your app becomes active

Supported Platforms

  • Instagram (via Meta)
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn
  • X (Twitter)
  • TikTok

Important Notes

  • Credentials are encrypted at rest
  • Each app has isolated credentials
  • One app = one OAuth identity
