Account Connections
A connection represents a single OAuth session between your app and a social platform.
It links a user’s social account to your application.
Why Connections Exist
Palactix introduces a connection layer instead of returning accounts directly.
This allows:
- Handling multiple accounts (e.g. Facebook pages)
- Tracking connection status (pending, success, failed)
- Supporting async processing

Fetch accounts using connection_idKey Concepts
connection_id
- Unique identifier for each OAuth session
- Returned when generating OAuth URL
- Used to fetch connected accounts
external_user_id (user_id)
- Your internal user identifier
- Passed during OAuth initiation
- Used to map users inside Palactix
status
pending→ OAuth not completedsuccess→ Accounts linkedfailed→ Error during connection
Why Not Return Accounts Directly?
Some platforms:
- Return multiple accounts
- Require additional API calls
- Have async processing
The connection model ensures:
- Consistent response format
- Better error handling
- Scalable architecture
